Understand Ring of Yaxche
Useful when…
- A catalyst wielder who benefits from HP and deals Normal Attack damage.
- A character able to use an Elemental Skill before its Normal Attack damage window.
HP scaling and cap
Using an Elemental Skill grants Jade-Forged Crown for 10 seconds. At R1, every 1,000 Max HP increases the wielder’s Normal Attack DMG by 0.6%, up to a maximum of 16%. At R5, each 1,000 Max HP grants 1%, up to 32%. The weapon’s secondary stat is HP. The passive names Normal Attack DMG specifically.
Using the effect
Use the Skill to start the buff window, then make use of Normal Attacks during its 10-second duration. The per-1,000-HP scaling means more Max HP increases the bonus until the stated cap; beyond the cap, the passive description provides no further Normal Attack DMG increase. Consider it where both HP and Normal Attack damage fit the wielder.
Investment and comparisons
Ascension advances the catalyst through stages 0–6. Refinement increases the bonus per 1,000 HP and its maximum, using another Ring of Yaxche copy and Mora. A Thousand Floating Dreams has EM and party-element-dependent bonuses, while Angelos' Heptades grants its party damage effect and Energy after shield creation. Those weapons use different stats and triggers; they are not direct alternatives for Ring of Yaxche’s HP-based Normal Attack bonus.
Attack type limitation
The passive is worded for Normal Attack DMG. Do not assume it boosts Charged Attack, Skill, or Burst damage. Also, using the Skill begins a timed effect; the weapon does not state that the bonus lasts beyond 10 seconds.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The damage bonus applies to Normal Attacks and has a maximum value.
- The scaling needs HP investment and a Skill use to activate the timed effect.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the Normal Attack bonus also increases Charged Attack, Skill, or Burst damage.
- Ignoring the 10-second duration and listed HP-based maximum.
