Understand Sacrificial Fragments
Useful when…
- Consider it for a catalyst user who benefits from Elemental Mastery and can land Skill damage.
- Refine it if improving the reset chance and lowering the effect cooldown are useful to the wielder.
Cooldown reset
After the wielder damages an opponent with an Elemental Skill, that Skill has a chance to end its own cooldown. The chance rises from 40% at R1 to 80% at R5. The effect can occur once every 30 seconds at R1, improving to once every 16 seconds at R5. A cast that does not damage an opponent does not meet the stated trigger.
Practical fit
This catalyst has 41.0671 base ATK and Elemental Mastery as its secondary stat. It is useful to consider when the wielder values Elemental Mastery and a Skill reset could enable another use. The effect is not guaranteed on each hit, and its separate cooldown means it cannot be triggered without limit.
Refinement and comparisons
Ascension advances through six stages. Refinement consumes a duplicate copy plus Mora; the supplied examples list 1,000 Mora from R1 to R2 and 8,000 from R4 to R5. It improves the reset chance and shortens the effect cooldown. A Thousand Floating Dreams provides party-element-dependent bonuses and shares Elemental Mastery with nearby party members. Angelos’ Heptades activates its damage and Energy effects when the wielder creates a shield. Apprentice’s Notes is a 1-star catalyst without a secondary stat in the supplied details. Their effects serve different roles and conditions; the reset remains the distinctive reason to consider Sacrificial Fragments.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The reset requires Skill damage and is chance-based.
- The effect’s internal cooldown limits repeated resets, even at higher refinement.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the passive triggers on a Skill cast that misses or deals no damage.
- Treating higher refinement as removing the effect cooldown.
