Splendor of Tranquil Waters

CRIT DMG sword that rewards HP changes with Elemental Skill damage and Max HP bonuses.

Released Nov 8, 2023

Splendor of Tranquil Waters is a five-star sword with CRIT DMG. Consider it for a wielder whose current HP changes frequently, particularly one dealing Elemental Skill damage; HP changes from other party members separately increase the wielder's Max HP.

Understand Splendor of Tranquil Waters

Useful when…

  • Increasing Elemental Skill damage when the wielder's current HP rises or falls.
  • Gaining Max HP when other party members' current HP changes.

How do its HP effects work?

When the wielder's current HP increases or decreases, Elemental Skill damage rises by 8% for six seconds per stack, up to three stacks at R1. When other party members' current HP changes, the wielder's Max HP rises by 14% for six seconds per stack, up to two stacks. Each effect can trigger once every 0.2 seconds, and both can trigger off-field. At R5, the values become 16% Skill damage and 28% Max HP per stack; stack limits, interval, and duration remain.

Which wielder benefits?

The first effect is specifically Elemental Skill damage and requires changes to the wielder's own current HP. The second depends on other party members' current HP changes and raises the wielder's Max HP. Absolution instead increases damage when the wielder increases a Bond of Life, so that distinct condition must fit. Amenoma Kageuchi grants energy after Skill-created seeds are consumed by a Burst. Aquila Favonia provides ATK and Physical DMG Bonus, with a heal and area hit when the wielder takes damage. These swords serve different stat and trigger needs.

What does refinement improve?

Ascension takes the weapon through six stages. Refinement consumes a duplicate and increases the Skill damage and Max HP values per stack. It does not increase the maximum stacks or six-second duration. Ascension is level progression; prioritize refinement only when these two conditional effects justify spending another copy.

What are the common misreads?

The Skill damage stacks require the wielder's own HP to rise or fall; other members' HP changes feed the separate Max HP effect. Do not treat the Max HP bonus as Skill damage, or assume the passive applies to every attack category.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The Skill damage bonus requires changes to the wielder's own current HP.
  • The Max HP bonus requires HP changes in other party members and has a two-stack cap.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Counting another party member's HP change toward the wielder's Skill damage stacks.
  • Assuming the HP bonus triggers on its own without an HP change or applies to all damage types.
