Understand Sturdy Bone
Useful when…
- Use when the wielder’s damage includes Normal Attacks after sprinting.
- Consider for exploration where reduced sprint stamina consumption is useful.
Trigger and duration
At R1, sprinting or using Alternate Sprint reduces stamina consumption by 15%. After either action, Normal Attack damage increases by 16% of ATK; the effect ends after 18 triggers or seven seconds. This is a Normal Attack effect, so it should not be counted as a general increase to charged attacks, skills, or bursts. Refinement raises the ATK-based Normal Attack increase while the stamina reduction remains 15%.
Use in combat and exploration
The sprint requirement gives the weapon a clear action window: sprint, then land Normal Attacks before the seven-second timer or 18 triggers expire. The stamina reduction can also support movement outside combat. Amenoma Kageuchi is a different ATK sword whose Skill casts create seeds that restore Energy after a Burst; it suits a distinct energy-management need rather than Sturdy Bone’s sprint-to-Normal-Attack condition.
Investment and limits
Ascension costs weapon materials and Mora. Refinement consumes another Sturdy Bone copy and Mora to improve the Normal Attack bonus, so its value depends on how often the wielder can use the trigger window. Absolution instead has CRIT DMG and a damage effect triggered by increasing Bond of Life; it is not a substitute for the sprint stamina benefit.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The damage effect requires sprinting and applies only to Normal Attacks.
- The buff expires after seven seconds or 18 triggers.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Counting the effect toward charged attacks or Elemental Skill and Burst damage.
- Waiting too long after sprinting and letting the seven-second window expire.
