Understand Summit Shaper
Useful when…
- Use on a hit-based sword damage dealer with reliable shield protection.
- Consider it when the wielder can build and maintain the weapon’s ATK stacks.
Stacking and shield condition
At R1, the sword increases Shield Strength by 20%. Hits grant 4% ATK for eight seconds, up to five stacks, with a trigger no more than once every 0.3 seconds. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%, meaning the hit-based increase doubles. The text does not say that the shield itself builds stacks; hits do that, and shield protection amplifies the increase.
Practical fit
The weapon’s ATK secondary stat and hit-triggered stacks reward a wielder who attacks often enough to build stacks and has shield uptime for the doubled effect. Absolution instead provides CRIT DMG and its own damage increase when Bond of Life grows, so it addresses a different build condition. Aquila Favonia grants ATK and has a damage-triggered healing and area damage effect; it does not depend on shield protection for its listed ATK bonus.
Investment
Ascension uses weapon materials and Mora. Refinement consumes another Summit Shaper copy and Mora, raising Shield Strength and the ATK gained per hit; its value is greatest when the wielder can actually keep a shield active and build stacks. Refining a duplicate therefore trades away another copy for stronger conditional gains.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The stronger hit-based ATK effect depends on shield protection.
- Stacks need hits and can fall off after eight seconds without refreshing.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Shield Strength alone activates the doubled ATK effect without a shield protecting the wielder.
- Expecting stacks without hitting opponents or overlooking their eight-second duration.
