Understand Sword of Descension
Useful when…
- Consider the weapon’s proc only on PlayStation Network.
- Use the specific Traveler ATK bonus only when the Traveler equips the sword.
Platform and attack conditions
The listed weapon effect is effective only on PlayStation Network. On that platform, Normal or Charged Attack hits have a 50% chance to deal 200% of ATK as damage in a small area, with a 10-second cooldown. Separately, equipping the sword on the Traveler increases the Traveler’s ATK by 66. These are distinct effects; the Traveler bonus does not remove the platform restriction on the proc.
Use and comparison
The chance-based area proc depends on hitting with Normal or Charged Attacks and cannot occur more than once every 10 seconds. Absolution offers CRIT DMG and a damage effect tied to increasing Bond of Life, while Aquila Favonia has an ATK increase and an effect triggered by taking damage. Those have different conditions and are not direct replacements for Sword of Descension’s platform-limited proc.
Leveling
Ascension uses weapon materials and Mora to raise weapon level. The supplied progression lists no refinement track, so there is no refinement-copy investment described here. Consider its platform restriction before spending ascension materials on the chance-based effect.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The proc is explicitly limited to PlayStation Network.
- The proc is chance-based and limited by a 10-second cooldown.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the weapon’s proc works on platforms other than PlayStation Network.
- Applying the Traveler’s 66 ATK bonus to another wielder.
