Understand The Alley Flash
Useful when…
- An on-field sword user who deals damage across multiple damage types and can avoid being hit.
- A reaction-oriented attacker who can make use of its Elemental Mastery secondary stat.
What does its passive do?
The weapon increases damage dealt by its wielder by 12% at R1, rising to 24% at R5. Taking damage disables that bonus for 5 seconds, so its uptime depends on avoiding hits; the condition is not tied to using a particular attack type.
Who benefits from the stats?
Its 45.0687 base ATK is paired with Elemental Mastery. The general damage bonus can apply across the wielder's damage, while Elemental Mastery is useful when that character's damage relies on reactions affected by the stat. Neither stat alone guarantees a good fit if the wielder is frequently hit and loses the passive.
How should it be improved?
Ascension increases weapon level and uses the listed weapon materials and Mora. Refinement raises the passive from 12% to 24% across R1–R5, but each step consumes another copy. Refine when the weapon is a settled choice and spare copies are available; keeping another copy preserves an option for a second sword user.
How does it compare with other swords?
Absolution has CRIT DMG and a damage effect activated by increasing Bond of Life, so that condition matters to its value. Amenoma Kageuchi instead gives ATK and can restore Energy after Skill use and a Burst. Aquila Favonia offers ATK, Physical DMG Bonus, and an effect triggered by taking damage. These support different stat needs and mechanics; none is an automatic replacement for this sword.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Taking damage shuts off the main passive for 5 seconds.
- Elemental Mastery is less useful when the wielder's damage does not benefit from reactions affected by it.
- Refinement requires sacrificing duplicate copies.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the damage bonus remains active after taking a hit; it is disabled for 5 seconds.
- Refining away a spare copy before deciding whether another sword user could use it.
