Understand Toukabou Shigure
Useful when…
- Focus damage on a marked opponent, especially when the wielder can take advantage of Elemental Mastery.
- Use the mark in encounters where defeating the marked target can refresh its cooldown.
Cursed Parasol effect
At Refinement 1, an attack hit marks one opponent with Cursed Parasol for 10 seconds, and the wielder deals 16% more damage to that opponent. It can trigger once every 15 seconds. If that opponent is defeated while marked, the cooldown refreshes immediately. Refinement 5 increases the damage bonus to 32%. The weapon is a 4-star Sword with 42.401 base ATK and Elemental Mastery as its secondary stat.
Target and stat fit
The effect is limited to the opponent carrying the mark, so it helps most when the wielder can direct damage at that target during the 10-second window. Elemental Mastery makes the stat profile distinct from a weapon built around CRIT DMG or ATK. Amenoma Kageuchi instead offers ATK and a Skill-to-Burst Energy return through Succession Seeds; Absolution has CRIT DMG and a damage effect that requires increasing Bond of Life.
Refinement investment
Refinement increases the marked-target damage bonus from 16% to 32%, using Parasol Talcum rather than another weapon copy. Ascension is its own progression path and the listed example stages use Mora and weapon materials. Refinement is most valuable when the wielder regularly attacks a marked target; the provided effect does not grant a general party buff.
Practical limit
A mark on one opponent does not raise the wielder's damage against every enemy. If the target survives past the mark duration, the normal 15-second trigger limit still applies; the immediate refresh is specifically tied to the marked opponent being defeated during its duration. Aquila Favonia offers an ATK increase and a damage-and-healing response to taking damage, which is a different condition and stat profile.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The damage bonus applies only against one marked opponent.
- The mark lasts 10 seconds and normally has a 15-second trigger interval.
- Elemental Mastery may not match a build focused on other stats.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the mark increases damage against all opponents.
- Expecting the cooldown refresh if the marked target survives past the mark duration.
