Understand White Iron Greatsword
Useful when…
- A claymore wielder who can benefit from DEF and defeat-triggered healing
- Sustained encounters with opponents that can be defeated by the wielder
Effect and conditions
At R1, defeating an opponent restores 8% HP; refinement raises this to 16% at R5. The trigger is a defeat, so it does not provide healing merely for hitting an opponent or during a fight without a defeat. The weapon also has a DEF secondary stat and 38.7413 base ATK.
Practical comparison
The healing can help between defeats in encounters where the wielder is securing the final blows, but it is not an on-demand defensive effect. Whiteblind also has DEF, but its passive instead builds ATK and DEF from Normal and Charged Attack hits. The listed higher-rarity alternatives offer different offensive or Energy-related effects and do not share this defeat-triggered healing condition.
Investment and caveats
Ascension covers six stages and refinement uses a duplicate plus Mora. Refinement increases the healing percentage, but does not change the defeat requirement. Do not rely on the heal as protection against damage before the wielder defeats an opponent.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Healing depends on defeating an opponent.
- The DEF secondary stat does not itself establish a shield or damage reduction effect.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the weapon to heal on hit or on demand.
- Treating its DEF stat as a shield or damage reduction effect.
