Understand Wine and Song
Useful when…
- A catalyst wielder who can weave Normal Attack hits and sprints into combat
- A setup where Energy Recharge and a short ATK window are useful
How the two triggers work
At R1, hitting an opponent with a Normal Attack reduces Sprint or Alternate Sprint Stamina consumption by 14% for 5 seconds. Using a Sprint or Alternate Sprint ability increases ATK by 20% for 5 seconds. Refinement raises both values, reaching 22% Stamina reduction and 40% ATK at R5. The triggers are separate: the Normal Attack hit grants the Stamina effect, while sprint use grants ATK.
Practical use and alternatives
The weapon's Energy Recharge secondary stat supports a different role from its sprint-linked passive. A Thousand Floating Dreams supplies Elemental Mastery-based effects and shares Elemental Mastery with nearby allies. Angelos' Heptades requires shield creation for its damage support, and Apprentice's Notes has no secondary stat or passive listed. These weapons should be compared by their actual stats and triggers, not by catalyst type alone.
Investment and caveats
Ascension spans six stages. Refinement requires a duplicate and Mora and improves the Stamina reduction and ATK increase. A Normal Attack alone does not grant the ATK bonus; sprint use is its stated trigger.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The ATK increase requires using a Sprint or Alternate Sprint ability.
- The Stamina reduction and ATK bonus have separate triggers and short durations.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming a Normal Attack hit alone activates the ATK bonus.
- Confusing the five-second sprint Stamina reduction with the five-second ATK effect.
