Understand Xiphos' Moonlight
Useful when…
- Supporting an EM-focused sword wielder who also benefits from Energy Recharge.
- Adding a temporary Energy Recharge contribution to nearby party members, including when the wielder is off-field.
How does the conversion work?
At refinement 1, the wielder gains 0.036% Energy Recharge for each point of their Elemental Mastery for 12 seconds. Nearby party members gain 30% of the wielder’s buff for the same duration. The effect triggers every 10 seconds and still triggers while the wielder is off-field. For example, the stated rate means each 100 EM contributes 3.6 percentage points of Energy Recharge to the wielder’s buff at refinement 1; nearby party members receive 30% of that amount. Refinement 5 raises the rate to 0.072% per EM point.
Who benefits from it?
The EM secondary stat makes the weapon relevant when the wielder’s build values Elemental Mastery; the conversion then also supplies Energy Recharge. Nearby party members receive a smaller share, so it can serve a support role as well as a personal stat role. Because the effect can trigger off-field, the wielder need not remain active for the trigger itself.
How should you invest?
Ascension advances the weapon through six stages; supplied examples give costs for stages 0→1, 3→4, and 5→6. Refinement uses another Xiphos' Moonlight and Mora, raising the Energy Recharge rate per EM point. Refinement is most relevant when the wielder has substantial EM and the resulting personal and party Energy Recharge is useful; keep duplicate copies if another sword user could use the EM and shared buff.
What should you not assume?
The party share is 30% of the wielder’s calculated buff, not a flat 30% Energy Recharge. The effect lasts 12 seconds and triggers every 10 seconds, so it is recurring but still duration-based. Amenoma Kageuchi instead stores seeds from Skill casts and restores Energy after Burst use; Absolution offers CRIT DMG and a damage bonus triggered by increasing Bond of Life. Those weapons address different conditions rather than duplicating Xiphos’ EM-to-Energy Recharge effect.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Energy Recharge buff scales with the wielder’s Elemental Mastery.
- The party receives only 30% of the wielder’s buff.
- Refinement consumes duplicate weapons and chiefly improves the conversion rate.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Reading 0.036% per EM as a flat Energy Recharge bonus rather than a rate multiplied by the wielder’s EM.
- Assuming nearby party members receive the full wielder buff instead of 30% of it.
- Ignoring that the 12-second effect triggers every 10 seconds and can trigger off-field.
