Understand Brighter Than the Sun
Useful when…
- Raising a wearer's CRIT Rate.
- Building ATK and Energy Regeneration Rate through repeated Basic ATKs.
Effect and stack duration
At S1, the wearer gains 18% CRIT Rate. Using a Basic ATK grants 1 Dragon's Call stack for 2 turns, up to 2 stacks. Each stack adds 18% ATK and 6% Energy Regeneration Rate. At S5, the corresponding bonuses are 30% CRIT Rate, 30% ATK per stack, and 10% Energy Regeneration Rate per stack. The Basic ATK is the stated trigger; the stacks last 2 turns and have a maximum of 2.
Practical use and alternatives
The stack bonuses reward using Basic ATKs often enough to maintain them; a wearer who rarely uses Basic ATKs will mainly receive the CRIT Rate. A Secret Vow offers DMG bonuses, including extra DMG when the enemy's HP percentage is at least the wearer's. A Trail of Bygone Blood focuses on CRIT Rate and Skill and Ultimate DMG. A Thankless Coronation emphasizes CRIT DMG and Ultimate-triggered ATK, with extra conditions tied to Max Energy. Compare those actual effects with the wearer's attacks rather than treating any as a direct substitute.
Investment
Promotion raises the Light Cone's level. Superimposition increases CRIT Rate and the ATK and Energy Regeneration Rate supplied by each stack; it does not extend the 2-turn duration or increase the 2-stack cap. Promotion is the general progression choice. Consider higher superimposition when the wearer's Basic ATKs make reliable use of the stronger stack bonuses and another copy is available to spend.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The ATK and Energy Regeneration benefits require Basic ATKs.
- Stacks last 2 turns and cap at 2.
- Superimposition consumes another copy.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Skill use grants Dragon's Call; the trigger is Basic ATK.
- Expecting more than 2 stacks or a duration longer than 2 turns.
- Choosing it for its stack bonuses without considering how often the wearer uses Basic ATKs.
