Understand Journey, Forever Peaceful
Useful when…
- A Preservation wearer whose abilities provide shields.
- A party that can keep relevant allies shielded while they deal damage.
Effect and activation
At S1, increases the wearer's provided Shield Effect by 12%. While an ally target has a Shield, that ally's DMG dealt increases by 12%. At S5, the bonuses rise to 24% Shield Effect and 20% DMG. The damage effect checks whether each ally target has a Shield; the Light Cone does not state that the wearer must be the source of that shield.
Shield support compared with other options
Concert for Two increases wearer DEF and grants the wearer more DMG for each on-field character with a Shield. Journey's bonus instead improves shield provision and the damage of shielded allies. Day One of My New Life raises wearer DEF and grants all allies All-Type RES after entering battle, while Amber focuses on wearer DEF with an additional DEF increase below its HP threshold. Those effects support different priorities and conditions.
Improvement priorities
Promotion advances the Light Cone through stages 0–6. Superimposition advances S1–S5 using a sacrifice copy at each listed step and improves both the Shield Effect and shielded-ally DMG values. Prioritize promotion for the equipped copy; use duplicates for superimposition if the stronger shield and conditional damage bonuses warrant it.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its damage increase does nothing for an ally target without a Shield.
- It emphasizes shield output and shielded-ally damage rather than a stated wearer DEF increase.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming allies receive the DMG increase when they are not shielded.
- Confusing provided Shield Effect with wearer DEF; the listed effect increases Shield Effect.
