Understand Ninja Record: Sound Hunt
Useful when…
- A Destruction wearer who loses or restores HP during combat.
- A wearer who benefits from Max HP and can activate the limited CRIT DMG effect.
How does the effect trigger?
At S1, Max HP increases by 12%. When the wearer loses or restores their own HP, their CRIT DMG increases by 18% for two turns. This can trigger only once per turn. At S5, the values are 24% Max HP and 36% CRIT DMG. HP changes on other units are not named as a trigger; the effect refers to this unit’s HP.
Which alternatives have different conditions?
A Secret Vow provides a general damage increase and an additional bonus against enemies whose current HP percentage is at least the wearer’s. A Trail of Bygone Blood grants CRIT Rate and boosts Skill and Ultimate damage. A Thankless Coronation grants CRIT DMG and ties ATK increases and Energy restoration to Ultimate use, with an energy-cap condition for the additional effect. These candidates target different damage patterns and conditions; they are not direct equivalents to HP-triggered CRIT DMG.
What investment does it ask for?
Promotion advances the Cone through six stages. Superimposition increases the Max HP and CRIT DMG values; each listed step consumes one Music Disc. Promote for level progression. Superimpose when the wearer can trigger its HP-change effect and you want the larger bonuses enough to spend copies.
What limits the CRIT DMG bonus?
The wearer’s HP must change through losing or restoring HP, and the effect can trigger only once per turn. Do not assume multiple HP changes in the same turn repeatedly refresh or stack the bonus; the description specifies a once-per-turn trigger and a two-turn duration.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The CRIT DMG bonus requires the wearer’s HP to change.
- The effect can trigger only once per turn.
- Superimposition consumes duplicate copies.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming an ally’s HP change triggers the effect for the wearer.
- Expecting repeated triggers in one turn.
- Confusing the two-turn duration with a bonus that stacks on each HP change.
