Understand Pioneering
Useful when…
- A Preservation wearer who can personally break enemy Weakness.
- A build that can use occasional self-healing after a successful break.
What happens on Weakness Break?
When the wearer breaks an enemy's Weakness, they restore HP equal to 12% of their Max HP at S1 or 20% at S5. The wearer must cause the Weakness Break; attacking an already broken enemy or having another character break it does not meet the stated trigger.
When is it a practical choice?
Consider it when the wearer can break Weaknesses and the self-heal is useful. It does not state a DEF increase, shield, or healing for allies. Amber instead increases the wearer's DEF, with additional DEF when current HP is below 50%. Day One of My New Life raises DEF and grants all allies All-Type RES after entering battle; effects of the same type cannot stack. Concert for Two adds wearer damage per on-field shielded character alongside DEF, so its offensive increase depends on shields being present.
Promotion and superimposition
Promotion advances the Light Cone through six stages; the supplied examples include Credit and Preservation or Core materials for selected stages. Superimposition increases the break-triggered healing from 12% to 20% of Max HP. Prioritize its level for base stats if needed, and raise superimposition when the wearer breaks Weaknesses often enough for stronger self-healing to matter.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Healing triggers only when the wearer breaks Weakness.
- The effect heals only the wearer and does not state a defensive shield or ally benefit.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting healing when another character triggers the Weakness Break.
- Treating the self-heal as a shield or team-wide recovery.
