Understand Scent Alone Stays True
Useful when…
- An Abundance wearer whose Ultimate attacks enemies.
- A Break-focused build that can reach 150% Break Effect in battle.
How does Woefree scale?
At S1, the Light Cone grants 60% Break Effect. After the wearer uses an Ultimate to attack enemy targets, those targets receive Woefree for 2 turns and take 10% more damage. If the wearer’s current Break Effect is at least 150%, the damage-taken increase is boosted by an additional 8%, for a listed total increase of 18% while the condition is met. At S5, the values are 100% Break Effect, 18% increased damage taken, and an additional 16% at the threshold, for 34% total when qualified. The threshold is based on the wearer’s current Break Effect.
Who can make use of the effect?
Woefree is applied only after the wearer’s Ultimate attacks enemies, and the threshold bonus depends on current Break Effect reaching 150%. The resulting damage-taken increase can support damage from allies as well as the wearer. Dream’s Montage instead gives SPD and can restore Energy after the wearer attacks Weakness Broken enemies, up to twice per turn. Echoes of the Coffin gives ATK and restores Energy after attacks hit different enemies; its Ultimate grants allies SPD for 1 turn. Cornucopia increases the wearer’s Outgoing Healing after Skill or Ultimate. These choices address different conditions and should not be treated as equivalent to this Ultimate-applied vulnerability.
How should it be invested in?
Promotion advances the Light Cone through six stages. Superimposition consumes one S1 copy per step and increases Break Effect and both Woefree damage-taken values; the 150% threshold and 2-turn duration do not change. Consider promotion for level growth. Extra copies are most relevant when the wearer can meet the Break Effect threshold and use an attacking Ultimate to apply Woefree regularly.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Woefree requires the wearer’s Ultimate to attack enemies.
- The larger damage-taken value requires at least 150% current Break Effect.
- The effect lasts 2 turns.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming an Ultimate that does not attack an enemy applies Woefree.
- Treating the additional threshold bonus as active below 150% current Break Effect.
