Understand Band of Sizzling Thunder
Useful when…
- Use two pieces for a Lightning damage wearer.
- Use four pieces when the wearer uses Skills and the resulting ATK increase is useful.
What triggers the four-piece bonus?
Two pieces increase Lightning DMG by 10%. At four pieces, using the wearer's Skill increases their ATK by 20% for 1 turn. The trigger is Skill use, and the stated duration is one turn; the effect is not described as a permanent ATK increase.
When is it a practical fit?
The full set is suited to a Lightning damage wearer whose Skill use makes the temporary ATK boost relevant. If the wearer seldom uses Skills, the four-piece bonus may be unavailable when needed. The two-piece Lightning bonus remains distinct from that Skill trigger.
What other triggers should you consider?
As Navigator Isee Sees It increases Skill and Ultimate damage after entering combat or using Skill, with up to three stacks that can be removed at turn start or after Ultimate. Messenger Traversing Hackerspace gives SPD and grants all allies SPD when the wearer uses an Ultimate on an ally. Dreamlit Actor also depends on using Skill or Ultimate on another ally and can add team CRIT DMG at its Certified Banger threshold. These sets serve different damage or support triggers than Band's self ATK boost.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The four-piece ATK bonus requires Skill use and lasts 1 turn.
- The two-piece damage bonus is specific to Lightning DMG.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the ATK increase is permanent or triggers from a Basic ATK or Ultimate.
- Expecting the Lightning DMG bonus to increase other damage types.
