Understand Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge
Useful when…
- Supporting Break DMG when the wearer reaches 150% Break Effect.
- Adding the further Super Break DMG DEF ignore when the wearer reaches 250% Break Effect.
What are the thresholds?
Two pieces increase Break Effect by 16%. At 150% or higher wearer Break Effect, the four-piece effect makes Break DMG dealt to the enemy ignore 10% of its DEF. At 250% or higher, Super Break DMG dealt to the enemy additionally ignores 15% of its DEF. The additional effect is specifically tied to Super Break DMG.
How should I assess the four-piece value?
Check the wearer's Break Effect against both thresholds. Reaching 150% enables the stated Break DMG effect; reaching 250% enables the additional Super Break DMG effect as well. The set gives a flat two-piece Break Effect bonus, but its threshold effects are not active below their respective values. Genius of Brilliant Stars has a different DEF ignore condition: its wearer deals damage to a target, with extra DEF ignore if the target has Quantum Weakness.
What should I avoid conflating?
Do not apply the 15% additional DEF ignore to all damage: it is specified for Super Break DMG and requires 250% Break Effect. The 10% effect at 150% is for Break DMG. The two thresholds describe distinct conditions.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The four-piece effects require reaching 150% and 250% Break Effect thresholds.
- The additional 15% DEF ignore is limited to Super Break DMG.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the 250% threshold as a condition for all of the set's DEF ignore.
- Applying the additional Super Break DMG effect to damage types not named in its condition.
