Understand Longevous Disciple
Useful when…
- Use two pieces when additional Max HP is useful to the wearer.
- Use four pieces when hits or HP consumption can trigger the CRIT Rate stacks.
How does CRIT Rate build?
Two pieces increase Max HP by 12%. With four pieces, when the wearer is hit or has their HP consumed by an ally or themselves, their CRIT Rate increases by 8% for 2 turns, up to 2 stacks. At full stacks the stated increase is 16%; reaching that requires two triggers, and the effect has a two-turn duration.
When is the full set useful?
The four-piece effect rewards a wearer who is hit or whose HP is consumed, including by their own or an ally's effects. A wearer with neither trigger may only use the Max HP benefit. Consider whether the HP increase helps the character and whether the CRIT Rate condition is likely to activate and remain useful.
What other support or damage conditions differ?
Wavestrider Captain gives CRIT DMG and builds Help stacks when another ally targets the wearer with an ability; at two stacks, the wearer consumes them on Ultimate for ATK. Warrior Goddess of Sun and Thunder relies on the wearer or memosprite healing another ally to grant a timed team buff. Dreamlit Actor requires a Skill or Ultimate on another ally for its Elation effect. These alternatives use ally targeting or healing conditions rather than Longevous's hit or HP-consumption trigger.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The four-piece CRIT Rate requires hits or HP consumption and lasts 2 turns.
- Max HP is the unconditional two-piece benefit; the CRIT bonus is conditional.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the CRIT Rate bonus activates from healing received; the stated triggers are being hit or HP consumption.
- Counting more than two stacks or assuming the bonus lasts beyond 2 turns.
