Understand Sushang
Useful when…
- Attacking a Weakness Broken enemy to guarantee the Skill’s Sword Stance hit.
- Using the Ultimate’s immediate action to attack again while its Sword Stance bonus is active.
- Gaining SPD while an enemy is Weakness Broken.
How does Sword Stance work?
Mountainfall deals Physical damage to one target and has a 33% chance to trigger an additional Sword Stance hit on its final hit. If the target is Weakness Broken, that additional hit is guaranteed. Her Ultimate deals single-target Physical damage, immediately gives her another action, and increases her ATK for two turns. During that window, using her Skill has two extra chances to trigger Sword Stance, and those extra-chance hits deal half of the original Sword Stance damage. Her Talent increases her SPD by 15% for two turns when an enemy is Weakness Broken on the field.
What encounters suit her?
Sushang is most dependable when the target’s Physical weakness can be broken and kept broken: that condition guarantees Sword Stance from her Skill and activates the Talent’s SPD increase. The Ultimate’s immediate action can put her back into an attack quickly, and its extra Sword Stance chances improve the Skill’s chance to add damage. Her Technique deals Physical damage to all enemies on entering battle, but her main Skill and Ultimate are single-target.
Which traces are most relevant?
The Skill and Ultimate are the central upgrade targets for her single-target attack and extra Sword Stance opportunities. The Talent supports her SPD gain after a Weakness Break. ATK bonus traces align with her ATK-scaled attacks. Basic ATK upgrades are less central when she is used primarily for Skill damage. Promotion is a separate character-level investment; the listed trace tracks have their own costs.
What limits the extra damage?
Without Weakness Break, the Skill’s Sword Stance trigger is only a chance, not a guarantee. The Ultimate’s added chances last for two turns, and the extra Sword Stance hits deal reduced damage. The SPD benefit is conditional on an enemy being Weakness Broken on the field, so it should not be treated as a permanent increase.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Her strongest Skill condition depends on the enemy being Weakness Broken.
- The Talent’s SPD increase requires a Weakness Broken enemy to remain on the field.
- Ultimate’s extra Sword Stance chances are time-limited and deal half-strength extra hits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating Sword Stance as guaranteed against enemies that are not Weakness Broken.
- Assuming the SPD increase persists when no enemy remains Weakness Broken.
- Overlooking that Ultimate’s extra Sword Stance hits deal half the original damage.
