Pickaxe progression for mining
Pickaxe tiers reduce the hits needed for some rocks and nodes and unlock access to certain obstacles and mining targets.
How it works
The supplied table says the starter Pickaxe breaks small rocks and needs multiple hits for tougher targets. Copper, Steel, Gold, and Iridium tiers improve what it can break or how quickly. The table specifically lists Steel for Farm boulders and later tiers for additional rock and node types.
When it helps
If a particular obstacle or mining target is slowing progress, compare its listed requirement with the next Pickaxe tier. The passages do not rank upgrades by overall value.
The tradeoff
Higher tiers require ascending metal bars and gold, and you temporarily give up the Pickaxe during the Blacksmith upgrade.
Your next step
Check the target rock, node, or boulder against the Pickaxe table, then plan the tier that addresses it.
