Assault Mode

Sentinel attack precept

Released Nov 8, 2018

Assault Mode instructs a Sentinel to attack the first visible enemy within its range. Consider it when you want your Sentinel to engage enemies automatically and can accept that its target is chosen by visibility and order.

Assault Mode GUIDE

Understand Assault Mode

Useful when…

  • Allowing a Sentinel to attack visible enemies automatically.

Range and target selection

At rank 5, the Sentinel attacks the first visible enemy within 30 m. At rank 0, that range is 17.5 m; rank 3 gives 25 m. The target rule is first visible enemy within range, not a stated priority for a particular enemy type.

Rank and slot

Assault Mode is a standard Sentinel mod with Penjaga polarity, base drain 0, and maximum rank 5. The listed rank 4-to-5 step costs 160 Endo and 7,728 Credits. Rank investment increases attack range; judge that reach against the other Sentinel mods you want to equip.

Other Sentinel priorities

Regen and Primed Regen concern Sentinel recovery and revival protection, while Sacrifice can revive its downed owner at the cost of incapacitating the Sentinel and increasing recovery time. Those precepts address survival rather than attack targeting and can be considered for a different priority.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Its targeting selects the first visible enemy in range rather than a stated chosen target.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Do not assume Assault Mode prioritizes Eximus or other specific enemy classes.
