Understand Brute Conditioning
Useful when…
- Increase melee damage on a compatible claw weapon.
- Convert the weapon's base Physical Damage to Impact.
Effect and compatibility
At maximum rank 10, Brute Conditioning grants +385% Melee Damage and converts all base Physical Damage to Impact Damage. At rank 0, the damage bonus is +35%, while the conversion is already stated. It is a standard Claws mod with Madurai polarity and base drain 4.
Conversion choices
Disabling Conditioning lists the same +385% maximum melee damage but converts base Physical Damage to Puncture; Precision Conditioning lists the same bonus and converts it to Slash. Brute Conditioning converts to Impact. These named mods are incompatible with Brute Conditioning, so choose the conversion effect relevant to the setup rather than planning to equip multiple versions.
Ranking tradeoff
Melee damage rises from +35% at rank 0 to +210% at rank 5 and +385% at rank 10; the stated conversion applies throughout. Ranking costs escalate: the supplied rank 5 to 6 example is 640 Endo and 30,912 Credits, while rank 9 to 10 is 10,240 Endo and 494,592 Credits. Consider those late-rank costs against the additional damage bonus.
Claw weapon role
Brute Conditioning applies to Claws. Assassin Posture is a separate claw mod described as changing companion targeting priority to Eximus and other high-ranking enemies and adding +300% Overguard Damage; it is not a replacement description for Brute Conditioning's damage and conversion effects.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Impact conversion is a specific damage-type choice.
- Late ranks require sharply higher Endo and Credits in the supplied examples.
- The named Puncture and Slash Conditioning variants are incompatible with it.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the conversion applies to added or non-base damage; the effect specifies base Physical Damage.
- Attempting to equip Brute Conditioning with Disabling Conditioning or Precision Conditioning.
- Ignoring the high Endo and Credit costs of the final ranks.
