Understand Calm & Frenzy
Useful when…
- Use with Rest or Rage when affected enemies are close enough for a kill-triggered spread.
- Consider higher ranks when broader spread range and more retained duration matter to your ability setup.
Effect and conditions
When Equinox kills an enemy affected by Rest or Rage, the augment spreads that effect to nearby enemies. The new targets receive a portion of the original target's remaining duration, not a fresh full duration. At rank 0 the spread reaches 2 m and retains 40% of remaining duration; rank 2 reaches 4 m and retains 80%; rank 3 reaches 5 m and retains 100%.
Practical use and equipment
This is a standard Equinox mod with Zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. It supports a play pattern where an affected enemy is killed near other enemies, allowing Rest or Rage to propagate within the listed radius. The mod itself does not list a change to the base effect of Rest or Rage; its stated contribution is the kill-triggered spread.
Rank investment and alternatives
Ranking improves both spread distance and the fraction of remaining duration carried over. The listed steps cost 30, 60, and 120 Endo, plus 1,449, 2,898, and 5,796 credits. Consider investing when the spread is central to your Equinox setup. Other Equinox augments have different triggers and outcomes: Peaceful Provocation converts damage into a slow aura or Ability Strength, while Duality releases Equinox's other half for 10 seconds. They do not provide this Rest and Rage propagation.
Limitations and common mistakes
The spread requires killing an affected enemy; merely applying Rest or Rage does not trigger it. Range is limited to 5 m at maximum rank, and the duration passed on is based on what remained on the killed target. Push & Pull is a Conclave Metamorphosis augment with a form-switch effect, so it addresses a different ability and mode.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The augment requires a kill on an affected enemy and nearby targets within its radius.
- Its spread uses remaining duration, so late kills can leave little duration to propagate.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the spread triggers from applying Rest or Rage rather than killing an affected enemy.
- Expecting a fresh duration instead of a fraction of the remaining duration.
