Understand Energy Channel
Useful when…
- Pairing Energy expenditure with a subsequent melee hit.
- Using a Madurai-polarity standard melee slot for a conditional damage effect.
How the effect works
At rank 0, the mod converts 50% of Energy used into up to 50 Bonus Damage on the next Melee Attack. At rank 3, it converts 200% up to 200; at max rank 5, 300% up to 300. These are listed conversion and cap values, not a final damage calculation. The effect requires Energy use and applies to the next melee attack.
Ranking and slot cost
Energy Channel has base drain 4, Madurai polarity, and uses a standard melee slot. Its maximum rank is 5; the listed final step costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits. Higher ranks raise both the conversion rate and damage cap, so weigh those gains against the fusion cost and other mods competing for the slot.
Other melee approaches
The comparison mods address different mechanics: Berserker Fury grants attack speed after a melee kill, Condition Overload adds melee damage per status type affecting a target, and Discipline's Merit enables Tennokai opportunities every four melee hits instead of at random. Those effects do not replicate Energy Channel's Energy-to-next-hit conversion.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The effect depends on spending Energy and following with a melee attack.
- Uses a standard melee slot and costs Endo and Credits to rank.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the conversion applies to every melee attack instead of the next one.
- Reading the conversion percentage or cap as final melee damage.
