Ash Prime

Prime stealth assassin and Slash-status specialist

Released Jul 7, 2015

Ash Prime uses the same stealth, Slash-focused abilities as Ash, with higher listed Shield and Armor and a different set of mod polarities. Consider it when those base-stat and customization differences suit your build.

Ash Prime GUIDE

Understand Ash Prime

Useful when…

  • Stealth-oriented combat
  • Slash-status builds
  • Mod customization using its listed polarities

What do the abilities do?

Ash Prime shares Ash’s passive and abilities. Slash status effects he inflicts deal more damage and last longer, although the numeric values are unresolved. Shuriken throws damaging blades that can pin enemies to walls. Smoke Screen stuns enemies and grants brief invisibility. Teleport attempts a Finisher and returns part of its energy cost if the Finisher kills. Blade Storm sends shadow clones against distant groups; the clones can be upgraded with mods.

When is Ash Prime a good fit?

Use Smoke Screen to interrupt enemies and create a short repositioning or attack window. The Slash passive supports weapons that inflict Slash status; Blade Storm offers an attack against groups at range, and its clones accept mods. Teleport is most useful when a target can be killed by its Finisher, since that condition also returns some energy.

What does the Prime version change?

The listed base stats are 455 Health, 365 Shield, and 185 Armor, compared with Ash’s 455 Health, 270 Shield, and 105 Armor. Ash Prime has three listed mod polarities—one Naramon and two Madurai—while Ash has two Madurai. These differences can affect survivability and how a mod setup fits; the ability descriptions are the same.

What should you watch for?

Invisibility is brief, and Teleport’s energy return depends on a Finisher kill. Do not assign a numeric value to the Slash passive from this description: its effect is stated, but its percentage values are not.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Prime base stats and polarities differ, but the listed abilities are shared with Ash.
  • Smoke Screen is temporary and Teleport’s energy return is conditional.
  • Passive bonus values are not specified.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming the Prime version changes the listed ability mechanics.
  • Treating temporary invisibility as continuous protection.
  • Counting on Teleport’s energy return without securing a Finisher kill.
