Understand Astilla Prime
Useful when…
- Use for close to mid-range groups where the slug impact and nearby explosion can both connect.
- Consider it when you want a full-auto shotgun with a 24-round magazine and substantial status chance.
How its two damage components work
The projectile impact deals 100 Impact damage. On impact it produces a separate explosion with 91 Slash and 49 Puncture damage. The explosion has a 2.4 m falloff radius and loses 30% at maximum falloff; the projectile's damage falls off from 60 to 100 m, with a 50% reduction at the end. Keep those components distinct when assessing range and target coverage.
Handling and investment
It is fully automatic, firing about 4.33 times per second, with 24 rounds and a 2-second reload. Its listed critical chance is 21%, critical multiplier 1.9×, and status chance 37%. Its three listed polarities—two Madurai and one Naramon—are useful starting points when fitting compatible mods; the weapon requires Mastery Rank 14.
Limits and alternatives
The explosion is small, so targets outside 2.4 m should not be expected to take its area damage; the projectile's listed falloff also makes distant shots less effective. Cedo is another shotgun option if its ricocheting glaive and status-dependent damage appeal; those are distinct mechanics, not Astilla features.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Small explosion radius limits area coverage.
- Projectile travel and range falloff require attention at distance.
- Requires Mastery Rank 14.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the impact and explosion as a single damage mode.
- Expecting the 2.4 m explosion to cover a large group.
- Ignoring projectile range falloff when firing at distant targets.
