Understand Atlas
Useful when…
- Close-range ability damage
- Petrifying and crowd-controlling enemies
- Generating Rubble for healing
How do his abilities work?
Landslide is an explosive punch that can be repeated into a three-hit combo; hits expand its radius, and each hit reduces its energy cost. Mods can improve the Landslide Fists. Tectonics creates a rock wall that can be sent crashing into enemies; attacks on the wall cause an area Slash effect based on the health it has lost. Petrify fossilizes enemies, increases damage they take, heals Rumblers, and creates Petrified Bulwarks. Shattering petrified enemies produces healing Rubble. Rumblers summon two stone brawlers, petrify nearby enemies on arrival, and leave Rubble when they end.
When should you use Atlas?
Landslide supports repeated close-range attacks, with its combo rewarding continued hits through a larger radius and lower per-hit energy cost. Petrify creates a setup for increased damage and healing Rubble. Tectonics can block with a wall or be activated again to send it forward. Rumblers add two melee allies and nearby petrification, then provide Rubble when their duration ends.
What investment fits the kit?
If Landslide is central to your play, its Fists are explicitly moddable. Atlas has 475 Armor, 270 Health, and 270 Shield listed, and is immune to knockdowns while on the ground. Atlas Prime keeps the same described abilities and ground knockdown immunity, with higher listed Health, Armor, and Shield and an additional polarity; consider it when those base stats and customization are useful.
What can go wrong?
Landslide’s expanding radius and falling energy cost are tied to successive hits; the first hit does not receive the later combo benefits. Tectonics’ Slash effect depends on damage the Bulwark has lost. Petrify’s healing Rubble comes when petrified enemies are shattered, while Rumblers leave Rubble when they finish.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Landslide rewards maintaining a close-range combo.
- Several defensive and healing effects depend on enemies attacking a Bulwark, being shattered, or Rumblers ending.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the Landslide combo’s larger radius and reduced cost before landing successive hits.
- Assuming Tectonics’ Slash effect is independent of damage to the Bulwark.
- Expecting Rubble from petrified enemies before they are shattered.
