Understand Boltor
Useful when…
- Use against targets whose movement gives you time to lead the projectile.
- Consider it for a primary with 14% listed status chance and Puncture-heavy damage.
Attack profile
Normal Attack fires projectiles at a listed speed of 85. It deals 20 Puncture, 2.5 Impact, and 2.5 Slash damage, with 10% critical chance, 1.8× critical multiplier, and 14% status chance. The description says its heavy bolts can impale enemies to walls. Its Incarnon Form is a separate projectile attack, listed at speed 10 with 0.4 Impact, 2.4 Slash, and 1.2 Puncture damage; it has 22% critical chance and a 2.8× multiplier.
Handling and fitting
Boltor fires automatically at about 8.75 shots per second, with 60 rounds, a 2.6-second reload, and listed accuracy of 25. It requires Mastery Rank 2 and has one Vazarin polarity to consider when fitting compatible mods. Projectile travel makes it different to aim than a hitscan rifle; lead moving targets rather than expecting immediate impact.
Alternatives by attack behavior
Amprex is a continuous electricity beam that arcs between nearby enemies, a distinct crowd-control pattern. Boltor Prime fires faster, sharper Orokin-designed bolts and lists 34% status chance in its detailed properties, but requires Mastery Rank 13. Trumna offers automatic fire plus a ricocheting explosive secondary that is charged by siphoning life essence.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Projectile travel requires leading moving targets.
- The normal attack has 10% critical chance.
- Reload takes about 2.6 seconds.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting bolts to hit instantly like hitscan shots.
- Mixing the Incarnon attack profile into normal firing expectations.
- Assuming the wall-impalement description applies to every target or guarantees a particular damage result.
