Understand Dual Kamas
Useful when…
- Use normal attacks for rapid close-range Slash damage.
- Use slams for area attacks, noting their damage types differ from the normal attack.
Normal attack properties
Normal attacks list 96 total damage, of which 81.6 is Slash, 9.6 Puncture, and 4.8 Impact. They attack at 1.17 speed, with 10% critical chance, a 1.5x critical multiplier, and 15% status chance. Listed range is about 2.4 m.
Slam attacks
The regular slam is an area attack dealing 192 Impact damage, with falloff from 0 to 8 m and 50% reduction. The heavy slam deals 288 Blast damage, with falloff from 0 to 9 m and 30% reduction. Both list 10% status chance; neither uses the normal attack's Slash-heavy distribution.
Progression and comparisons
It requires Mastery Rank 1 and its recipe lists two single Kamas and an Orokin Cell alongside the blueprint. Dual Heat Swords are another dual-sword candidate, but have Mastery Rank 3 and a different Heat-damage slam profile. Amphis is a staff with a described shock-damage jump attack, so it is a different handling choice rather than a like-for-like dual-sword alternative.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Normal attacks are dominated by Slash, while listed critical chance and multiplier are modest.
- Slam damage types differ from the normal attack and should be evaluated separately.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not mistake the heavy slam's Blast damage for the normal attack's damage type.
- Do not assume the recipe uses a single Kama; it lists two.
