Understand Dual Skana
Useful when…
- Use normal attacks for close-range physical damage, mostly Slash.
- Use slams for area attacks when their Impact or Blast damage modes fit the situation.
Normal attack
The normal attack lists 120 total damage: 84 Slash, 18 Impact, and 18 Puncture. Speed is 0.833, critical chance 5%, critical multiplier 1.5x, and status chance 16%. Its listed range is 2.5 m. The Slash-heavy distribution and status chance provide a clearer starting direction than its low critical stats.
Slam modes
A regular slam deals 240 Impact area damage, with falloff from 0 to 8 m and 50% reduction. A heavy slam deals 360 Blast area damage, with falloff from 0 to 9 m and 30% reduction. Both list 10% status chance, so keep them separate from the normal attack's 16% status chance and physical damage.
Progression and fit
Dual Skana requires no Mastery Rank and has no listed polarity. The recipe calls for a blueprint and two Morphics, among other materials. Dual Heat Swords share the dual-sword type and are described as able to connect with multiple targets, but require Mastery Rank 3. Dual Zoren has a higher listed critical chance and multiplier, while Gram is a Heavy Blade; those differences may guide progression or handling preferences without proving a universal upgrade.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Low critical stats make it a limited starting point for critical-focused investment.
- Its normal attack status chance is higher than the slam modes' listed 10%.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not treat all attack modes as Slash damage; regular slam is Impact and heavy slam is Blast.
- Do not assume the normal attack's 16% status chance applies to slams.
