Understand Equinox Prime
Useful when…
- Night-form crowd control, enemy damage reduction, and shield replenishment from nearby kills.
- Day-form vulnerability, ally Ability Strength, and Slash pressure.
- Choosing a Prime configuration with four listed polarities for mod compatibility.
What does each form provide?
Metamorphosis grants temporary bonus shields and armor in Night Form or bonus damage and speed in Day Form. Rest & Rage sleeps targets at Night and makes them more vulnerable to damage by Day. Pacify & Provoke reduces nearby enemy damage in Night and increases nearby allies' Ability Strength in Day. Mend & Maim restores allies' shields for each nearby kill in Night; deactivation restores health and shields for Equinox and allies. In Day it inflicts Slash, and deactivation casts a slashing wave. The abilities are listed with the same effects as regular Equinox.
How should you choose a form?
Night suits control, damage mitigation, and shield support; Day suits damage vulnerability, ally Ability Strength, and Slash offense. Choose with the intended Mend & Maim outcome in mind, since the stored ability behaves differently by form and its deactivation effect also changes. Metamorphosis provides temporary form-specific bonuses, so a switch is more than a visual change.
What are Prime's stat and polarity differences?
Equinox Prime lists 365 health, 270 shields, and 160 armor. Regular Equinox lists 270 health, 270 shields, and 135 armor. Prime has two Vazarin and two Madurai polarities with a Naramon aura polarity; regular Equinox has one Vazarin and one Madurai polarity with the same aura polarity. The passive orb-conversion percentages are unresolved for both, so they cannot support a numeric comparison.
Do Harrow candidates replace her?
Harrow and Harrow Prime are described as increasing damage to support allies, and their listed stats differ from Equinox Prime's. The provided descriptions do not establish Equinox's form switching, sleep, mitigation, shield restoration, or form-dependent Slash effects, so they are not demonstrated substitutes for those mechanics.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The effects vary by form, requiring attention to current form before casting or deactivating Mend & Maim.
- The passive orb-conversion percentages are unresolved.
- Prime stats and polarities differ, while the supplied ability descriptions remain the same as regular Equinox.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the Prime variant's abilities as different from the listed regular Equinox kit.
- Using a Day or Night effect while in the opposite form.
- Deactivating Mend & Maim without accounting for its form-dependent result.
- Claiming an exact passive conversion rate from unresolved values.
