Understand Equinox
Useful when…
- Putting targets to sleep and reducing nearby enemy damage in Night Form.
- Making targets more vulnerable and increasing nearby allies' Ability Strength in Day Form.
- Replenishing allies' shields through nearby kills while using Night Form's Mend.
- Inflicting Slash in Day Form and releasing the stored effect as a slashing wave when deactivated.
What changes between Day and Night?
Metamorphosis switches forms and temporarily grants bonus shields and armor in Night Form, or bonus damage and speed in Day Form. Rest & Rage sleeps targets in Night Form and makes them more vulnerable to damage in Day Form. Pacify & Provoke reduces damage from nearby enemies in Night Form and increases nearby allies' Ability Strength in Day Form. Mend & Maim replenishes allies' shields with each nearby enemy killed in Night Form; deactivating it in Night Form restores health and shields for Equinox and allies. In Day Form it inflicts Slash status, and deactivation casts a wave of slashing force.
When should you use each form?
Use Night Form when the goal is to control targets with sleep, reduce incoming damage from nearby enemies, or replenish squad shields through nearby kills. Use Day Form to expose targets to more damage, increase nearby allies' Ability Strength, and apply Slash before releasing Mend & Maim's wave. Metamorphosis temporarily changes defense in Night and damage and speed in Day, so form selection affects both the paired abilities and the form-specific bonus.
What do her stats and investment support?
Equinox lists 270 health, 270 shields, 135 armor, and 175 power, with Vazarin and Madurai polarities and a Naramon aura polarity. Her passive converts a stated percentage of Health Orbs into Energy and Energy Orbs into Health, but the percentage is unresolved. The input gives no upgrade tracks or ability values, so exact mod priorities or scaling claims are unsupported.
How is Equinox Prime different?
Equinox Prime lists 365 health, 270 shields, and 160 armor, compared with regular Equinox's 270 health, 270 shields, and 135 armor. Prime also lists four polarities—two Vazarin and two Madurai—while regular Equinox lists Vazarin and Madurai. The supplied ability descriptions match; Prime is distinguished by these stats and configuration options in the available facts, not a separate form mechanic.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The paired effects depend on the current form, so the same ability slot does not always serve the same purpose.
- Mend & Maim has different effects and deactivation outcomes in Day and Night.
- The passive's orb-conversion percentage is unresolved.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Rest & Rage has the same effect in both forms; Night sleeps, Day increases damage vulnerability.
- Expecting Mend & Maim to restore the same resource or trigger the same effect in both forms.
- Forgetting the form requirement for each Pacify & Provoke and Mend & Maim effect.
- Assigning a numeric orb-conversion rate from unresolved placeholders.
