Understand Gazal Machete
Useful when…
- Using kills to add bonus damage to Djinn's next Fatal Attraction.
- Receiving a temporary Corrosive Damage period from Fatal Attraction.
- Using its Slash-heavy normal attacks and distinct slam attacks.
Djinn interaction
Each kill with Gazal Machete adds bonus damage to Djinn Sentinel's next Fatal Attraction. Fatal Attraction, in turn, gives the weapon a period of Corrosive Damage. The bonus amount and duration are unspecified; this interaction depends on Djinn's named ability.
Base attack profile
Normal attacks deal 178 listed damage: 133.5 Slash, 17.8 Impact, and 26.7 Puncture. They have 10% critical chance, a 2× multiplier, and 30% status chance at a listed speed of 1. Regular slams deal 356 Impact in an area, with 50% reduction at the 8-unit falloff endpoint. Heavy slams deal 534 Blast, with 30% reduction at the 9-unit endpoint; both list 10% status chance.
Handling and investment
The weapon has one Madurai polarity and a 0.7-second heavy-attack wind-up. Its Djinn interaction is conditional; without that interaction, its listed base damage and attack properties describe its ordinary melee profile.
Other weapon mechanics
Heliocor is a hammer that scans on fatal strikes when a Codex Scanner is equipped and has an available charge. Arca Titron builds an electron charge with each successive kill and unleashes it on slam attacks. Destreza Prime is a rapier with 32% listed critical chance and a 3× multiplier. These have different stated mechanics or weapon types; none is described as sharing Gazal Machete's Djinn interaction.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Djinn interaction depends on Fatal Attraction.
- The amount and duration of its bonuses are unspecified.
- Normal attacks list 10% critical chance.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the Djinn interaction without Fatal Attraction.
- Assuming a specific amount or duration for the Corrosive Damage period.
- Applying the normal attack's status chance to slams.
