Understand Destreza Prime
Useful when…
- Use normal strikes for Puncture-heavy damage with a strong starting critical profile.
- Use slam and heavy slam for separate area attacks dealing Impact and Blast respectively.
- Match compatible mods to its two listed Madurai polarities.
What are its normal attacks like?
Normal attacks deal 119 Puncture, 30.6 Slash, and 20.4 Impact damage. They have 32% critical chance, a 3× multiplier, and 20% status chance. Listed attack speed is 0.917, range is 2.5, follow-through is 0.7, and heavy-attack wind-up is 0.5 seconds.
How do slam modes differ?
The slam attack is an area attack dealing 340 Impact damage, with falloff from 0 to 6 meters and 50% reduction at the end. Heavy slam deals 510 Blast damage, with falloff from 0 to 7 meters and 30% reduction at the end. Their listed status chances are 18% and 10% respectively, separate from the normal attack’s 20%.
Where does it fit in progression?
Compared with standard Destreza, Destreza Prime requires mastery rank 10 rather than 7 and lists 32% critical chance and a 3× multiplier rather than 28% and 2×. Standard Destreza has a listed Madurai polarity; the Prime has two Madurai polarities. This supports investing in the Prime when its additional critical profile and slots matter to your setup, while standard Destreza remains the lower-mastery rapier option.
What should you avoid assuming?
The Prime is still a close-range rapier with 2.5 listed range, not a ranged weapon. Its normal Puncture profile does not mean the slam attacks deal Puncture: those use Impact and Blast. Its cached tags include Prime and Vaulted, but those tags do not establish current availability or acquisition chances.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Higher mastery requirement than standard Destreza.
- Normal attacks favor Puncture, while slam modes switch to Impact and Blast.
- Its high critical stats do not remove the need to engage at melee range.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the Prime’s normal attack damage types also apply to its slam modes.
- Ignoring its rank-10 mastery requirement when planning progression.
- Treating its Vaulted tag as proof of present availability or a particular drop chance.
