Understand Harpak
Useful when…
- Fire the normal burst at range while accounting for projectile travel.
- Use the separate Harpoon attack for its described spike or reel-in behavior.
Normal burst attack
The normal attack is a projectile burst listed at five shots per second, with 80 shot speed and flight. Each shot deals 5 Impact, 37.5 Puncture, and 7.5 Slash damage; it has 20% critical chance, a 2.3× critical multiplier, and 17% status chance. The rifle has a 45-round magazine and a two-second reload.
Harpoon mode
The Harpoon is a separate projectile attack listed at 1.5 shots per second, with 60 shot speed and flight. Its listed damage is 40 Impact, 50 Puncture, and 10 Slash, with 25% critical chance, a 2.3× critical multiplier, and 13% status chance. The weapon description says to spike enemies to a wall or reel them in. Do not treat the Harpoon’s damage or cadence as part of the normal burst.
Build and alternatives
The normal attack has the higher listed status chance, while the Harpoon has the higher listed critical chance; choose upgrades based on the mode you intend to use. Harpak requires Mastery Rank 7 and lists one Madurai polarity. Baza is described as a quiet, agile, pinpoint-accurate submachine gun, while Hema uses burst projectile fire with a health cost to forge ammunition and restores health with headshots. Those are distinct handling or resource mechanics, not direct replacements for the Harpak’s harpoon function.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Both attacks are projectiles, so their listed shot speed and flight matter for aiming.
- Harpoon fires more slowly than the normal burst and has a lower listed status chance.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating Harpoon as part of the normal burst or applying its attack stats to that mode.
- Aiming as though the projectile attacks were hit-scan.
