Understand Kama
Useful when…
- Quick normal melee attacks with a Slash-weighted damage mix.
- Area hits from standard or heavy slams when enemies are grouped nearby.
Normal attacks and slams
Normal attacks deal 63 Slash, 13.5 Impact, and 13.5 Puncture damage, with 12% critical chance, a 1.8× critical multiplier, and 10% status chance. The standard slam is an area attack dealing 180 Impact damage out to 8 m with 50% falloff. The heavy slam deals 270 Blast damage out to 9 m with 30% falloff. Treat those as separate modes rather than extensions of the normal attack's damage mix.
Handling and investment
The listed attack speed is 1.17, range is 2.4 m, and heavy-attack wind-up is 0.7 seconds. Two Madurai polarities provide matching slots for mods of that polarity. Its 12% critical chance and 10% status chance are modest starting values, so choose upgrades for the mechanics you intend to emphasize rather than assuming either is already dominant. The figures are base properties, not final damage.
When another melee type fits better
Dual Ether is a dual-sword weapon described as fast, precise, and able to hit multiple targets. Scindo is a slower heavy blade for heavier strikes, while Skana is a mastery-rank-0 sword. They have different weapon types and requirements; consider them for those handling preferences rather than assuming they are direct upgrades to the Kama.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Normal attacks have 10% status chance and 12% critical chance.
- The standard and heavy slams deal Impact and Blast damage respectively, not the normal attack's Slash-weighted mix.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not mistake the Kama for Dual Kamas; the listed equipment is a single machete.
- Do not assume its normal-attack Slash damage carries over to its Impact standard slam or Blast heavy slam.
