Understand Korrudo
Useful when…
- Close-range melee that favors critical hits over frequent status effects.
- Slam attacks against clustered enemies, accounting for their listed falloff.
How its attacks differ
Normal attacks deal 193 listed damage: 110.01 Impact, 77.2 Slash, and 5.79 Puncture, with 31% critical chance and 9% status chance. The regular slam is an area attack dealing 386 Impact, with damage reduced by 50% at 7 m. Heavy slam is a separate area attack dealing 579 Blast, with 30% reduction at 8 m; do not treat either slam as the normal attack’s damage profile.
Handling and investment
It has 1.25 m listed range, 0.833 attack speed, a 0.5 s heavy-attack wind-up, and a 5 s combo duration. It requires Mastery Rank 9.
When to consider another weapon
Choose Korrudo when sparring handling and its critical profile suit your melee slot. The Sancti Magistar is a hammer whose charged attacks heal allies and which grants status-effect resistance while held; that support utility is a different reason to equip it. Sarofang’s heavy-slam vortex depends on building combo to 8×, or 5× in Voruna’s hands. These are conditional alternatives, not direct substitutes for Korrudo’s attack profile.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Normal attacks have only 9% status chance.
- Slam attacks have explicit range-based damage falloff.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not apply the 579 Blast heavy-slam figure to normal attacks.
- Do not overlook slam falloff when judging damage beyond the center of the area.
