Understand Limbo Prime
Useful when…
- Freeze Rift-bound enemies and pause enemy projectiles with Stasis.
- Use Banish and Rift Surge to affect enemies across planes.
- Create a temporary Rift pocket with Cataclysm.
Rift mechanics
Limbo Prime’s passive allows dodging into and out of the Rift, leaving a small portal when entering. Energy slowly recharges in the Rift, and each enemy killed there grants energy. Banish damages hostiles and pushes enemies and allies out of Limbo’s current plane. Stasis freezes Rift-bound enemies and holds enemy projectiles in midair until Stasis ends. Rift Surge affects nearby Rift-bound enemies and transfers to a nearby enemy outside the Rift when they are killed; surged enemies leaving the Rift trigger radial Banish. Cataclysm makes a temporary Rift pocket that collapses in a lethal blast.
Using and configuring Limbo Prime
Stasis halts Rift-bound enemies and their projectiles while active; projectiles resume when it ends. Banish pushes allies as well as enemies out of Limbo’s current plane, so track which units are affected. Cataclysm creates a localized temporary Rift area, while Rift Surge can transfer through nearby enemies as they die. Limbo Prime lists 270 Health, 270 Shields, 135 Armor, and 215 Power, with two Madurai, one Naramon, and one Vazarin polarity.
Comparison with Limbo
Regular Limbo lists 270 Health, 180 Shields, 105 Armor, and 175 Power, with two Madurai polarities and a Naramon Aura polarity. Limbo Prime lists 90 more Shields, 30 more Armor, and 40 more Power, and has four starting polarities including Naramon and Vazarin. Their ability descriptions match.
Other frames
Mirage Prime’s description emphasizes illusion and mayhem; Mesa Prime’s emphasizes a lethal enforcer role. Their supplied descriptions do not specify Limbo’s Rift-based control. Caliban is described as offering crowd control and survivability, but its summary does not specify the same plane interactions.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Banish pushes allies as well as enemies out of Limbo’s current plane.
- Paused projectiles resume when Stasis ends.
- Prime’s listed stat and polarity differences do not change the listed abilities.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Stasis permanently removes enemy projectiles.
- Forgetting Banish pushes allies as well as enemies out of Limbo’s current plane.
- Treating Prime’s changed stats and polarities as a different ability set.
