Understand Limbo
Useful when…
- Use Stasis to freeze Rift-bound enemies and pause their projectiles.
- Use Cataclysm to create a temporary pocket of Rift plane.
- Dodge to move into or out of the Rift.
Rift and abilities
Limbo’s passive lets him dodge into or out of the Rift. Entering leaves a small portal, and energy slowly recharges while he is in the Rift; each enemy killed there also grants energy. Banish sends a wave that damages hostiles while pushing enemies and allies out of Limbo’s current plane. Stasis freezes Rift-bound enemies and arrests enemy projectiles until it ends, when they resume their trajectory. Rift Surge affects nearby Rift-bound enemies, transfers to a nearby enemy outside the Rift when they are killed, and causes surged enemies leaving the Rift to perform a radial Banish. Cataclysm opens a Rift pocket that lasts briefly before collapsing in another lethal blast.
Using plane control
Stasis halts Rift-bound enemies and their projectiles while active; remember that projectiles resume when it ends. Banish pushes both enemies and allies out of Limbo’s current plane, so track which units are Rift-bound. Cataclysm creates a localized temporary Rift area. Rift Surge can transfer to nearby enemies when affected enemies die, and surged enemies leaving the Rift trigger radial Banish.
Stats and polarities
Limbo lists 270 Health, 180 Shields, 105 Armor, and 175 Power. His listed starting polarities are two Madurai and a Naramon Aura polarity. Limbo Prime has different listed stats and polarities, while the ability descriptions are shared.

Caliban is described as offering crowd control and survivability, but its summary does not specify Rift mechanics. Limbo Prime shares Limbo’s abilities and has different listed stats and polarities.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Banish pushes allies as well as enemies out of Limbo’s current plane.
- Stasis pauses projectiles only while active; they resume when it ends.
- Limbo’s control effects involve tracking which units are Rift-bound.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Banish affects only enemies; its description includes allies.
- Treating Stasis as destroying projectiles rather than pausing them until it ends.
- Overlooking that Rift Surge and leaving the Rift can trigger additional Banishing effects.
