Understand Caliban Prime
Useful when…
- Lifting enemies and setting up Razor Gyre
- Choosing Sentient summons for melee, ranged, or shield support
- Stripping armor and shields while supporting nearby allies
What do the abilities do?
Razor Gyre dashes through enemies, applies Tau status to increase their vulnerability to other status effects, and recovers some energy, Health, and Shields for every enemy hit. It deals increased damage to targets lifted by Sentient Wrath. Sentient Wrath sends a radial blast, lifting survivors and amplifying their damage taken briefly. Lethal Progeny summons a selected Sentient type: Conculysts focus on melee, Ortholysts on ranged attacks and Tau status, and Summulysts on squad shield protection and summoning Choralysts. Fusion Strike converges three streams, strips armor and shields, and detonates enemies hit at convergence; summoned Conculysts can use mini versions.
How can you use the kit?
Sentient Wrath can lift survivors so Razor Gyre can apply its listed increased damage condition. Razor Gyre recovers some resources for each enemy it hits, while Fusion Strike supplies armor and shield stripping. Select a Lethal Progeny unit for the described role you need: melee pressure, ranged Tau application, or squad shield protection.
What does Prime change?
Caliban Prime lists 270 Health, 640 Shield, and 290 Armor, compared with Caliban’s 270 Health, 550 Shield, and 290 Armor. Prime has three polarities—Vazarin and two Madurai—compared with Caliban’s single Vazarin polarity. The abilities are shared. Its passive grants damage-type resistance to allies within Affinity range, but the maximum value is unresolved.
What can go wrong?
Razor Gyre’s increased damage against lifted enemies requires Sentient Wrath’s lift, and its recovery depends on enemies hit. The different summons have distinct specialties; choosing one does not combine them all. Do not assume a numeric passive resistance cap from the unresolved value.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Prime’s listed distinctions are Shield and polarities; the described abilities are shared.
- Some abilities reward specific setup conditions or enemy hits.
- Passive resistance limit is not quantified.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Prime changes the listed ability kit.
- Expecting Razor Gyre’s lifted-target bonus without a lift.
- Conflating the different Lethal Progeny unit specialties.
