Understand Voruna Prime
Useful when…
- Using a melee buff after Shroud of Dynar invisibility
- Applying and spreading status effects before Ulfrun’s Descent attacks
- Generating health or energy orbs through specified kill types
Ability effects and conditions
Shroud of Dynar tap grants invisibility and speed, ending when Voruna attacks; melee attacks then gain increased critical damage, status chance, critical chance, and Slash Status Effects for a short time. One melee kill can extend that buff per cast. Hold increases Parkour Velocity. Fangs of Raksh tap applies five random Status Effects at 10 stacks each and spreads them to nearby enemies when the target dies; hold provides Status Effect resistance. These tap and hold functions are distinct.
Sustain and attack setup
Lycath’s Hunt tap creates health orbs from melee kills and energy orbs from headshot kills. Killing an enemy affected by at least five Status Effects extends its duration; hold increases Heavy Attack efficiency. Ulfrun’s Descent tap prepares five target-locking charges, with increased damage against status-affected targets and nearby enemies. A lethal attack doubles the remaining charges’ damage. Hold gives a one-time fall safeguard described as Ulfrun dying in Voruna’s place if she falls while it is active.
Prime differences and investment
The Prime lists 455 Health, 270 Shield, and 265 Armor, compared with ordinary Voruna’s listed 200 Armor; its ability descriptions match the ordinary frame. It also lists 130 Power, sprint speed 1.2, two Madurai and one Vazarin mod polarities, and a Vazarin aura polarity. These are fitting and stat differences, not a new ability mechanic. For the ability loop, prioritize applying status effects before relying on Ulfrun’s increased damage, and match kill type to the desired Lycath orb. Caliban and Caliban Prime have different listed stat profiles and are described as offering crowd control and survivability, not Voruna’s melee-status kit.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Her core ability conditions remain the same as ordinary Voruna; Prime differences are listed stats and mod polarities.
- The melee buff, duration extension, and orb generation each require particular actions or kill conditions.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting Prime to change the described abilities.
- Assuming the Shroud melee buff can extend more than once per cast.
- Confusing Lycath’s melee-kill health orbs with its headshot-kill energy orbs.
