Understand Mire
Useful when…
- Use normal attacks for a Toxin-bearing sword with 31% status chance.
- Use slam attacks for the separately listed Toxin AoE damage.
What does the normal attack include?
Normal attacks list 158 total damage: 65 Toxin, 47 Slash, 23 Impact, and 23 Puncture. They have 31% status chance, 9% critical chance, and a 1.5× critical multiplier. Listed attack speed is about 1.08, range is 2.7 m, and wind-up is 0.6 seconds.
What happens on slam attacks?
The standard slam is an AoE Toxin attack listed at 316 damage, with 31% status chance and 50% falloff by 7 m. The heavy slam is an AoE Toxin attack listed at 474 damage, with 31% status chance and 30% falloff by 8 m.
How do the comparisons differ?
Coda Mire is a Rank 17 sword described as having improved critical chance, critical multiplier, and status chance; its comparison entry lists 18% critical chance and a 2.4× multiplier. Pathocyst is a Rank 9 glaive that can release enemy-seeking maggots, while Spinnerex is a Rank 12 whip with toxin and enemy-death effects in its description. These have distinct types and conditions, and are not automatic substitutes for Mire.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Low critical chance and a 1.5× critical multiplier.
- Slam damage is AoE with listed falloff at range.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not overlook that the normal attack already includes Toxin damage; it is not limited to slam attacks.
- Do not confuse the 31% status chance on Mire’s attacks with the critical chance, which is 9%.
