Nautilus

Railjack support Sentinel

Released Mar 19, 2021

Nautilus is a Sentinel for Railjack support and enemy grouping. Consider it when you want Auto Omni’s repair and fire response during Railjack missions, or Cordon’s clustering to make groups easier to target. These are compatible Precepts that must be equipped; they are not automatic benefits of owning Nautilus.

Understand Nautilus

Useful when…

  • Supporting a Railjack by equipping Auto Omni.
  • Clustering nearby enemies for easier targeting with equipped Cordon.

What its Precepts do

Auto Omni has a 20-second cooldown. At rank 0, it has a 17% chance to repair nearby Railjack hull damage and extinguish fires on the Railjack; at rank 5, its repair chance is 100%. Cordon pulls enemies within range of a target into clusters for easier targeting. Its range grows from 5 m at rank 0 to 30 m at rank 5, with a 15-second cooldown. Equip each Precept to use its effect.

Practical use and investment

For Railjack missions, Auto Omni is the direct support choice; rank it if improving the chance of hull repair is important to you. For ordinary combat, Cordon’s grouping can help concentrate enemies for targeting, and its rank increases the radius it can affect. These benefits depend on equipping the relevant Precept, so prioritize the one that serves the activity you expect to play.

Build and comparison

Nautilus has 560 health, 250 shields, and 80 armor, with four listed Penjaga polarities. Carrier shares those listed base stats and is described with Ammo Case and a shotgun; Djinn is described as a combat Sentinel with a poison dart weapon; Wyrm is described as highly offensive, with Crowd Dispersion and a laser rifle. Those alternatives have different stated roles, while Nautilus’s listed distinction is its Railjack repair and enemy-grouping Precepts.

Common mistakes

Do not count Auto Omni or Cordon as active without equipping the respective Precept. Auto Omni is not guaranteed to repair hull damage at rank 0, and Cordon’s range and cooldown should not be confused: its range depends on rank, while the listed cooldown is 15 seconds.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Its strongest stated utility is tied to Railjack repair and enemy grouping, so it may be a less direct fit when seeking a Sentinel described around another role.
  • Auto Omni’s repair chance is lower at rank 0; Cordon begins with a 5 m range.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming the compatible Precepts are always active without equipping them.
  • Treating Auto Omni’s rank 0 repair chance as guaranteed.
  • Assuming Cordon’s maximum range at rank 0.
