Understand Panthera
Useful when…
- Use normal fire for traveling sawblade projectiles.
- Use alternate fire when its hitscan attack suits the shot.
How do the attacks differ?
Normal fire is a projectile attack with listed speed 3.0000002, 60 m/s shot speed, and 60 m flight. It deals 20 impact, 70 slash, and 10 puncture damage, with 12% critical chance, a 2× critical multiplier, and 24% status chance. Alternate fire is hitscan, listed at speed 2; it deals 10 impact, 80 slash, and 10 puncture, with 25% critical chance, a 2× multiplier, and 35% status chance. These are separate attack profiles; the higher alternate-fire chances alone do not establish it as the better mode.
What is its handling like?
The listed property fire rate is 3, and the weapon has a 30-round magazine and a two-second reload. Normal fire travels as a projectile, while alternate fire is hitscan. Panthera has a Mastery requirement of 7 and a Naramon polarity.
How do the rifle alternatives differ?
Miter is described as launching high-velocity saw blades. Ax-52's description distinguishes hip-fire ammo efficiency from aimed headshot critical chance, while Stradavar switches between semi-automatic and automatic firing. These descriptions identify different weapon behaviors; they do not establish a strict upgrade over Panthera.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Normal fire is a projectile attack; alternate fire is hitscan.
- The attacks have distinct damage, speed, critical, and status values.
- The 30-round magazine is paired with a two-second reload.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating normal-fire sawblades as hitscan.
- Applying alternate-fire critical or status values to normal fire.
