Understand Pride
Useful when…
- Use the normal attack profile as the basis for considering its 35% listed status chance and 15% critical chance.
- Distinguish Slam Attack from Heavy Slam Attack when assessing their damage and falloff.
Normal attacks and handling
Normal Attack lists speed 1.2, 125 Slash and 125 Puncture damage, 15% critical chance, a 2× critical multiplier, and 35% status chance. The listed melee properties include 2.8 range, 0.4 follow-through, a 5-second combo duration, and a 65-degree blocking angle. Pride has one Madurai polarity. These properties can inform a melee build, but do not by themselves establish a universal performance ranking.
Slam entries are separate attacks
Slam Attack lists 500 Impact damage in an AoE, with 10% status chance and falloff from 0 to 8 m with 50% reduction. Heavy Slam Attack lists 750 Blast damage in an AoE, with 10% status chance and falloff from 0 to 9 m with 30% reduction. A separate heavyAttackDamage value of 4,500 is present, but it is not identified as either named slam entry.
Comparing other scythes
Wrath is another Mastery Rank 14 heavy scythe, described as Orion's signature weapon, and its listed critical chance is 30% compared with Pride's 15%. Caustacyst is a different scythe whose description says heavy attacks unleash an acid wave and leave corrosive sludge. Tenet Grigori's description specifies a spinning energy disk on Heavy Slide Attack, with disk lifetime derived from combo counter size. These are distinct supplied characteristics; they do not establish which weapon is preferable for every build.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Normal Attack has a 35% listed status chance and 15% critical chance.
- The two named slam attacks differ in damage type, listed damage, and falloff data.
- The 4,500 heavyAttackDamage value is separate from the named attack entries.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the 4,500 heavyAttackDamage field as a named attack mode.
- Confusing the Slam Attack's Impact profile with the Heavy Slam Attack's Blast profile or falloff.
