Understand Prisma Machete
Useful when…
- Use the Normal Attack when its Slash-heavy damage and 31% status chance suit the target and build.
- Use the separate slam modes when their area damage profiles fit the engagement, accounting for each mode’s listed falloff.
Normal Attack
The Normal Attack has speed 0.917, 15% critical chance, a 1.9× critical multiplier, and 31% status chance. Its listed damage is 135.1 Slash, 28.95 Impact, and 28.95 Puncture. The profile also lists range 2.5, follow-through 0.7, and blocking angle 55 degrees.
Slam attacks
The Slam Attack is an area attack that lists 386 Impact damage, 19% critical chance, and 10% status chance. Its falloff is listed from 0 to 8, with 50% reduction. The Heavy Slam Attack is a separate area attack: it lists 579 Blast damage, 19% critical chance, 10% status chance, and falloff from 0 to 9 with 30% reduction. Keep these profiles separate from the Normal Attack’s damage and status chance.
Different melee forms
Cassowar is a polearm, Falcor a glaive, and Fang Prime a pair of dual daggers. Their comparison entries describe different weapon types, but do not provide enough shared attack detail to rank them against Prisma Machete. Consider them when you specifically want those weapon forms rather than as assumed direct upgrades.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Normal Attack is Slash-heavy, while the Slam Attack deals Impact and the Heavy Slam Attack deals Blast.
- Normal Attack status chance is 31%; each listed slam attack has 10%.
- The listed attack profiles have different falloff values and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying the Normal Attack’s 31% status chance to either slam mode.
- Treating the Slam Attack and Heavy Slam Attack as having the same damage type or falloff.
- Assuming the comparison entries establish a direct upgrade ranking.
