Understand Strun
Useful when…
- Use its hitscan normal attack when you want straightforward shotgun handling.
- Consider it as an early shotgun; its listed Incarnon modes are distinct from its normal attack.
Normal attack and handling
The semi-automatic hitscan attack fires at 2.5 shots per second. Each shot lists 25 damage, split into Impact 13.75, Slash 7.5, and Puncture 3.75, with 7.5% critical chance, a 1.5x critical multiplier, and 5% status chance. Damage falls off from 12 to 25 meters, with 40% reduction at the far end. Its six-round magazine and 3.75-second reload make missed shots and prolonged firing costly; accuracy is listed as 4.
Incarnon modes
The Incarnon Form is a separate projectile attack, listed at 2 shots per second with 200 projectile speed and flight, 100 Impact damage, 44% critical chance, a 2.8x critical multiplier, and 40% status chance. The separate Incarnon Form AoE lists Slash 80, Puncture 30, and Blast 60, with 20% falloff reduction over 0–4 meters. Do not apply these values to normal shots or combine the modes into one attack.
Investment and alternatives
The weapon has one listed Naramon polarity and a rank cap of 30. The input does not specify upgrade effects, so prioritize upgrades according to your intended build rather than assuming a particular final damage result. Mk1-Strun is listed at mastery 0 with the same 7.5% critical chance and a 2x multiplier; Strun Wraith requires mastery 10 and has higher listed critical chance, multiplier, and status chance. These are comparisons, not proof of acquisition or a required upgrade path.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Small magazine and long reload interrupt sustained firing.
- Normal attack damage falls off across its listed 12–25 meter range.
- Normal attack has low listed critical and status chances.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the Incarnon projectile and AoE entries as normal-attack damage.
- Ignoring the reload time when firing through the six-round magazine.
- Assuming its listed damage remains unchanged at longer range.
