Understand Xaku
Useful when…
- Creating floating auto-targeting weapons from nearby enemies
- Using The Lost for conversion, damage capture, or a Void beam
- Entering The Vast Untime to weaken enemies to Void Damage and pause other active durations
Weapons and Void effects
Xata’s Whisper gives equipped weapons Void Damage while active. Grasp of Lohk steals weapons from nearby enemies, turning them into floating auto-targeting armaments; its damage output increases based on enemy level. The number of weapons grabbed also determines the damage multiplier for Deny, one of The Lost’s abilities. The Vast Untime releases a damaging body-shrapnel blast and weakens enemies it hits to Void Damage, then leaves Xaku in a swifter skeletal form.
The Lost and ability timing
The Lost cycles through three powers: Accuse corrupts enemies into allies, Gaze captures damage with Void tendrils and inflicts it when the target is released, and Deny fires a Void beam that removes Sentient resistances. The Vast Untime temporarily freezes the duration of Xaku’s other active abilities; their duration resumes after it expires. This makes ability timing a central part of using the frame: activate effects you want to preserve, then use The Vast Untime with the understanding that their timers are paused, not continuing normally.
Practical priorities and limitations
Xaku’s passive description says there is a chance of damage reduction on area attacks and a chance to avoid incoming weapon damage, but the values are unresolved and should not be estimated. Listed base stats are 269 Health, 239 Shield, and 146 Armor; Xaku has two Vazarin mod polarities and a Naramon aura polarity. No upgrade tracks are supplied. Grasp of Lohk depends on nearby enemies to steal weapons, and Deny’s multiplier depends on the number stolen. Xaku Prime’s comparison lists higher stats and an additional polarity, while Sevagoth and Voruna Prime have different described mechanics and are not direct ability equivalents.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Grasp of Lohk and its interaction with Deny depend on the number of nearby enemies whose weapons can be stolen.
- The Lost requires cycling among distinct effects, and other active durations pause during The Vast Untime.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming The Vast Untime consumes other active ability duration while it is running; the listed effect pauses it.
- Treating Deny’s damage multiplier as fixed rather than dependent on weapons grabbed by Grasp of Lohk.
- Assuming exact passive damage-reduction or avoidance values from unresolved placeholders.
