Understand Escape Velocity
Useful when…
- Give allies a speed bonus after they travel through Worm Hole.
- Use when movement support is more useful than another Nova ability augment.
Effect and ranks
At rank 0, allies who travel through Worm Hole gain a 30% Speed bonus for 4 seconds. Rank 2 raises this to 40% for 6 seconds, and rank 3 reaches 50% for 7 seconds. Escape Velocity is a standard Nova augment in an Exilus slot, with Zenurik polarity and base drain 6. The listed bonus applies to allies who travel through the wormhole; it is not described as a passive team-wide effect.
Rank costs and slot
The three listed rank-ups cost 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits, then 60 Endo and 2,898 Credits, then 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits. Rank investment improves both the bonus amount and duration. Since it occupies the Exilus slot, weigh that movement support against the Exilus options available to your setup.
Other Nova augment effects
Antimatter Mine is a Conclave augment that creates a fully charged stationary orb which explodes after 6 seconds or when enemies are nearby. Antimatter Absorb lets Antimatter Drop absorb enemy bullets within 5 m, and Molecular Fission lets kills on enemies primed by Null Stars restore Null Star charges. These affect other abilities and do not provide Escape Velocity’s passage-triggered speed bonus.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The speed bonus requires allies to travel through Worm Hole.
- Uses an Exilus slot and has base drain 6.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming allies receive the bonus without traveling through Worm Hole.
- Confusing the Worm Hole augment with augments for Antimatter Drop or Molecular Prime.
